The firm’s recent move into pharmacy retail will help bolster branding and credibility of the formulation, co-founder Solomon Poon told NutraIngredients-Asia.

Malaysian brand Amazin’ Graze’s says the addition of probiotics into its protein powder line-up has provided a more ‘complete nutritional profile’ for consumers looking for a wider range of health benefits.

Available in chocolate and vanilla flavours, its plant-based protein blend contains two billion CFU of Bifidobacterium Longum, alongside other ingredients such as pea protein isolate, dietary fibre Fibersol, acerola cherry extract, turmeric, and green tea extracts.

“Beyond fulfilling protein requirements, this combination offers additional benefits by enhancing gut health, supporting mood and focus, and boosting overall immunity,” said CEO and co-founder Amy Zheng.

Aquil Harjivan, R&D Head – Digital Health, said that the precision health group formed in late May would look to develop a variety of products.

This will range from physical diagnostics, including epigenetic testing, fast screening of conditions, providing services such as telehealth, developing software solutions, to providing personalised nutrition, such as vitamins, minerals, and supplements.

The product, All-Bran Immune Care, contains Kirin’s proprietary ingredient Lactococcus lactis strain Plasma (LC-Plasma), and arabinoxylan – a fermentable dietary fibre derived from wheat bran.

It is marketed as “a functional food with double health claims” due to the use of LC-Plasma and arabinoxylan that contributes to immune and gut health respectively.

‘No benefit, no use’: Amway China reveals efforts to reduce artificial colouring, preservatives and excipients in health foods

Amway China has revealed plans to reduce the use of artificial colouring, preservatives, and sweeteners in its dietary supplement range as part of its sustainability efforts.

The company launched its 2022 Sustainability Report during a company event in Beijing during end May, highlighting plans for reducing carbon emission and improving its formulation for supplements.

One of the goals is for its Nutrilite dietary supplement range to be 100 per cent “pure without additives” by next year. This means that the firm will reduce the use of artificial essences, colouring, and preservatives.
